Greetings to one and all. I have been away from my fans for ten long
years. I am back.
Let me tell you what I’ve been up to.
During this period I have been touring the USA, Europe, Africa and the
Caribbean as a spoken word artiste in the true sense of the word i.e.
without a band.
I was granted a Folk Philosophy fellowship at the University of the West
Indies as well as being Artiste in Residence at Merritt College, Oakland
At home I have not been idle. I now have a television series called “Simply
Muta” as well as my long running radio program “The Cutting Edge” on Irie
I have also found time to release three CD’s, namely: “Muta In
Combination” with singers such as Tony Rebel, Marcia Griffiths, Dennis
Brown, Sugar Minott and Freddie McGregor; “Life Squared” released by
Heartbeat Records and “Life and Lessons” distributed by Gallo in South
I have also appeared as a guest on Youssour N Dour’s latest album “Dakar
to Kingston” recorded at Tuff Gong Studios in Jamaica.
Now backed by my favorite musicians the Sounds Of Resistance band I am
looking forward to giving you food for thought on world affairs, humanity
and the environment as well as presenting you with a taste of Muta past,
present and future.
Mutabaruka has returned.
